Our Story

Vital Products and Service, Ghana Ltd. (Vital Products) grew out of my passion for traveling and celebrating the beauty and richness of the African diasporan cultures. Having visited nearly 20 African and Caribbean countries over the last 40 years, family resemblances and shared beauty emerge as a colorful mosaic of human expression. From Homowo festivals in Ghana with the Ga, and the RaRa celebrations in Haiti, to the crop-over festivities in Barbados, children of the diaspora find ways to celebrate life and the bounty of its harvests and the renewal of life.

The  the commonalities, yet the striking differences in language, cultural expressions of human flourish, and the resilience of African people are most inspiring. At the same time, I witnessed colossal challenges and needless suffering from inequities, and basic needs that could be met by mindful people of good will. I saw challenges and similarities in agriculture, and other sectors that could be addressed, where the quality of life for many people in these countries could be improved, using our own resources, giftings and genius. What I witnessed in Haiti, parts of the United States, and Jamaica, I also observed in Liberia, Ghana, and Zimbabwe. As a result of this, I felt compelled to find solutions that enable us to provide solutions to our own concerns.

Out of this aspiration, Vital Products would be created, with the name selected to point to something essential, and necessary for living life in its fullness. In 2022, Vital Products and Service, Ghana Ltd. was formed as a limited company registered in Ghana. Vital Products markets and distributes innovative agricultural products and services that improve the quality of life for various segments of the population in Ghana and other countries in West Africa as a model for global engagement. These products and services range from new technologies that provide substantive solutions to urgent problems, to organic, disruptive agricultural input products that directly impact agricultural production, helping the country meet food self sufficiency goals, and quality of life concerns for farmers, market women and others in the food value chain.
